Mine Tour

This past week I was able to get tour of Marigold mine with Becky, my sister. She drives a haul truck out there and her boss was very gracious to let her give me a tour while she was working. It was really neat to see how things work around there and the haul trucks, shovels and loaders are amazing. They are so big. If you ever get the chance to go on a tour or want to I highly recommend it. I was able to ride around with Becky in her haul truck for a while and was able to get up in the shovel while it loaded a couple of trucks.

This is inside the cab of Becky's truck. There's a little computer on the dash that can tell you al sorts of info. about the truck and how it is working; lets you know if there's a problem, temp. of the brakes, etc......
Here is Becky's truck next to a normal sized truck and a skid-steer. She has one of the small trucks too.

This is me standing behind one of the "pumpkin" trucks(there orange). This is the new trucks that eventually they will all be driving. They are bigger than the previous one I showed you.

Me standing next to a tire. They are about 3ft wide. If they blow, they will put a huge hole in the ground-no joke!! Each tire costs around $80,000 and there are 6 of them on each truck!

Here is the shovel loading one of the big trucks. It takes about 4-5 shovels to load them.

You got some really good pics!! You forgot to mention that the "little" haul trucks carry 190 tons of dirt and the big ones carry about 330 tons!!! Try to level all that out with a hand shovel and see how long it takes you haha!! That's alot of dirt!
