Fireworks

Okay, I know, its about time I posted some pictures and yes, these pictures are a little late considering the date of the event but "hey", better late then never, right? I had Becky pick up some fireworks for the girls, and me too; nothing that goes shooting into the air though-there is to much to burn around here.

The slight breeze made lighting some of these a challenge.
Little Miss Princess and her "magic wand".

Queen Jessie and her "magic wand".

This is just trippey.

WOW! I was only joking about the "magic", really.

She's disappearing, fading, turning into a ghost!

I think she is coming to get me!

Okay, enough of that-those pics were just weird and cool in a "weird" kind of way. Now its time to enjoy a couple fountians.

Are they asleep? With all this excitement?

In Case You Were Wondering

I haven't fallen off of the face of the earth, or gone "missing in action" or been abducted by some alien. I haven't forgotten all of you wonderful people that enjoy looking and reading my blog. I have just been going and coming, leaving and staying, spinning in circles, etc.......... This summer has been crazy busy, funny how that happens; I'm doing things that I wasn't planning on and not doing things that I was planning on but that is how life is.
Anyhow, last week my best friend Whitney and her two kids came over to visit from Wyoming. Talk about a great surprise; it was a very much needed visit. She helped me get ready for the horse show that I had that weekend and then came along to Elko with me for the day-it was HOT!! Bryan was wonderful and kept all of the kids that day. We had a lot of fun and a wonderful visit that of course is never long enough-even though she stayed a couple extra days.
We have also gotten the girls involved in soccer-Marisa will be signed up today so then I will be getting both of the girls ready for practice and games Mon.-Thurs at 6 each day. I guess some regular routine is good-especially since I am usually flying by the seat of my pants day to day.
The girls also have had vacation bible school both last week and this week so plus Sara, my sister, is on bed rest so we have been helping her with her girls too. I have also am still trying to get out to Chapin's 3 times a week to clean-I was hoping to do a little more work for them this summer since I thought I would have more time but that just hasn't been the case.
I also am showing a horse this year in Elko. So far I have 2 shows down and 2 to go. Its a lot of fun and a lot of work but we are doing well. Then of course there is the garden that we are trying to keep the weeds out of, ha ha ha and then there are the weeds in the trees lines and the lawns to mow and tons of things to water plus the house to keep up on and then in our spare time we are butchering chickens(more on that later) but we have 12 down and 11 to go.
So, there's the scoop on whats been going on around here but I need to go and get the girls to vbs and then out to Chapin's. I will be getting some pictures on here soon!!

Batty

The other morning I found this poor, helpless creature that the cats had tormented for who knows how long and then had left him to suffer a slow, agonizing death. They had broken his wing, tore his wings and covered him in drool(that in and of itself is deadly). I'm sure he was minding his own business, catching mosquitoes and then "WHAM, POUNCE, SMACK, CHOMP, SMACK"-well you get the picture. Cats are quite cruel. Needless to say, this little guy was quite upset when I found him in the driveway-they can make a terrible noise. I saved him from being trampled and tossed around from the dogs and moved him an area that he could pass away in peace but of course I had to get a few pictures.

I moved him with a shovel-I'm not into handling wild, injured wildlife with my bare hands.
Smile!

Interesting little creatures

I really did feel sorry for the little guy but not much you can do with a bat.

So I put him where he could hang upside down in peace.

Well Done

Jessie is getting really good at riding and her confidence is building quickly. She is also learning quickly that horses are a lot of work.

Here she is backing Nina up; she is starting to do so well with keeping the reins together and the right length.

She is really starting to keep her seat well too.

Riding horses does take some concentration and a good hat form mom to keep the sun out of your eyes.

Time to speed up....go, go, go....

Good Job!!

The look of a pro in the making.

Okay, time for some helpful tips. Jessie thinks its great that her horse is bigger than mine.

A good student is one that can be taught.............

and apply what they have been taught.

"Like this mom?"

Good Job! Time to cool off.

They're both looking a bit fatigued.

Especially the rider.

Yep, its time to call it a day.

Jessie, hang in there; just gotta make it to the gate.

A little bit further.

Well done there girl!

I'm proud of ya!
