Double the......FUN!!

Well, this past week has been crazy busy so I haven't taken any new pics but have so many on file that I haven't shared yet so here are a few. As most of you know, Bryan spent last Tues. thru Fri. in Carson City teaching and then left Sat. to go up to Oregon to pick up a bobcat-not the fuzzy kind but the equipment kind. He will hopefully be back Monday. The girls and I have been managing pretty well but are ready for him to be home-its just not the same. He is thinking abour going to Uganda in Feb. for 3wks minimum. I'm not really looking forward to that. Anyhow, here are some pictures of the girls that were all taken this summer.
cute and innocent

Close call...

Well, no pictures today. We went to Elko today to go to the dentist; all 4 of us-yes, this is what we do when we finally get time for all of us to be together. Lets go to the dentist!!! Ok, just joking. Anyhow, on our way to Elko we almost got in a serious wreck-I was driving(that is not why we were almost in the wreck-haha) and we were going up Emigrant, heading east, and as you all know, semi-trucks go really slow up that hill. Well, I was coming up on a slow truck and did what anyone would do and started passing him. He had 2 trailers so he was really long. As I got up towards the front of the truck he started to drift towards me and then he really came my way. Needless to say, I APPLIED the brakes and moved over--way over-we were now in the median-thankfully there was median to go into and not gaurd rails or we would have been squished. I didn't lose control or hit a marker post and Bryan was quite impressed with how well I handled it. Man O man was I shaking!!! The truck driver moved back into his lane and so I got back on the road and past him. After we went over the summit I stopped at Palisade and waited for him to pass us while Bryan called dispatch to get a trooper out here so we could issue a citation-yes, you can issue a citation. We followed the trucker to Carlin where he got off the interestate and went to the Flying J. He new we were following him but tried to ignore us. Bryan
got out and went to go have a "conversation" with the guy while we waited for NHP to get there. When Bryan told him that he ran us off the road all the guy said was, "oh, sorry." Bryan told him that we were going to cite him for this and that NHP would be here soon. Anyhow, when NHP got there, Bryan made sure he was cited for wreckless driving and then told the trooper to do whatever else he wanted-the guys log book hadn't been filled out in a couple days, etc....
So, we were a few minutes late getting to the dentist but we made it on one piece. The dentist went ok-Bryan needs another crown(but thankfully no root canal), Marisa has one cavity and I need a filling re-done. Jessie 's teeth look good just need to go talk to an orthodontist to see if anything can/should be done now.
After the dentist we went and ate lunch, went to the gun store, feed store and the vet clinic, oh and got fuel then headed home. The trip home was uneventful. After we got home, Bryan had to pack his bag, shave his head and get going to Carson City. He is teaching EVOC at the academy the rest of the week. EVOC-Emergency Vehicle Operations Course.
Well, hope that all is well with you. I'm getting tired.

Doggie wanta bone.....

As most of you already know, a few days ago a got bit by a dog that decided he wasn't going to let me into his house. I was supposed to be house/pet sitting for my neighbor for 1wk. I have met the dog before with no problems but his "mama' was always there-not this time. Thankfully, I was able to close the door on the dog and my jeans helped alot. Needless to say, Bryan was ready to go shoot the dog in about 3 seconds(he was still in bed when I told him what happened)

Right after I got home.
More like a really bad "pinch"
The next day; bruising is showing up-the really sticky bandage was a mistake.
Yes, its sore. Thankfully, its not as bad as it could of been.

Moth

This morning out on a gate post I noticed this fairly large, colorful moth. It hung out on the gate post for a few hours and then flew away. Jessie and Marisa thought that he was really neat. Anybody have any idea as to what kind it is?

Me and the girls

After looking through all of the pictures that I have on file(there's over 500 of them), I decided to put some of me and the girls. There are only a handful of pictures of myself since I am ususally the one holding the camera. Anyhow, these were all taken this summer.

My dad took this picture when we went camping up at the South Fork. A good friend of ours has some property with the river going right through the middle and said that we were more than welcomed to go camping. It was a lot of fun. We didn't catch any fish; caught a couple snakes and a lot of sun-remember to put sunscreen on the top of your feet when you wear sandals!!
These pictures are not in order-sorry. This is Jessie and I on our way back up the ravine that goes down into Hell's Canyon. Its a fun drive on a ATV except when the brakes get really hot and quite working because it is so steep and windy that even in the lowest geer your still using them to keep ya from sliding around-there was very little room for mistakes(ask Bryan-he was glad when we got to the bottom) The way back up wasn't as bad.
Here is Jessie and I at the South Fork-the sunset was really pretty that evening.
I must have been explaining something-I was using my hands. We were getting ready to go on a trail ride.
The girls were really excited even though they don't look like it in the picture-they were ready to go.

Womens Camp

This past week I went on a trip to CA with my sister Sara and some other ladies to a women's camp in Sonora, CA. The camp was relaxing-didn't do a whole lot but had a nice visit. The drive there was terrifying-however, I am proud to say that we survived/conquered Hwy 4(its a goat trail) but we made good time-I DON"T RECCOMEND IT!!! The drive back wasn't as bad on 88 but still a little "nerve wracking"

Here is the gps in Sara's car on hwy 4. There were switchbacks on this road.
Some views of the drive up.

This is the lodge that we stayed in.
Here is all of us from Battle Mtn. that went.

This is Sara my sister and Sara our friend.
There were lots of places to go see and things to do. This is only one of many signs.
Here was our room. There were 3 of us in this room and 4 in the other-7 of us sharing a bathroom-we managed.
A little social buck.
