New Orleans Aquarium

Here are the pics. from our visit to the New Orleans Aquarium when we went down to Mississippi for a family reunion/vacation. We visited the aquarium after we had went to the zoo. We all had a blast and I would highly recommend it.

Look! Look! Eels.
The Rain Forest exhibit was really 'cool'.

Her mind was spinnin'

"Mom, your slowing me down"

Down from the 'canopy'

Lots of different kinds of fish

Standing guard

My terrified daughters standing in the jaws of a make believe shark

The frog section was really neat

Jessie was getting tired by this point.

Riding a Killer whale.

The blow hole would really blow air out-she was waiting.

Cutie!

My little pearls!!!

This picture wasn't this way when I first put it on but for some reason it turned; anyhow, this was one of many kinds of fish in the biggest exhibit there.

Yep-they had a few sharks. Jessie was glue to us through the entire time we were here because she was sure we would eventually see sharks and she is just not convinced that they are not going to get her somehow.

After a 3hr drive to New Orleans, 4hrs at the zoo and 2hrs at the aquarium........they were exhausted!! This was before we ever got out of New Orleans and they slept a long time. the highlights of the aquarium was that we got to pet a sting ray and a nurse shark-very cool!!

Audobon Zoo Brought To You

Back in Oct. we went down to Mississippi for a few days to visit friends and family. While there we decided that we were going to take the girls to the zoo in New Orleans. It ended up being a beautiful day-the sun was shining and no rain-it had been raining when we had gotten up but was perfect at the zoo. We had a blast with the girls. They've been to the Boise zoo before but were to young to really enjoy it or remember it. No the case this time!
There are a ton of pictures so be prepared to sit here for a little while.

Just inside the zoo.
The highest point in New Orleans at 22 ft. above sea level-"Monkey Hill".

"monkeys" of a 'feather' flock together.

Have no idea what kind of bird they were but they weren't to concerned about us being there.

Vultures from South America enjoying their frozen/thawed rat dinner-yummy!

There were tons of different kinds of ducks and water birds all over the place.

Spider monkeys on the 'lookout'

Giant anteaters

Yes, its white, it is alive, has blue eyes but its not an albino.

Some bird that wasn't to concerned about much.

Flamingos

Pack-a-derms

Sun bear

I don't remember but they liked their water.

White tiger

Lioness

Rainbow Boa and yes they were petting it.

One of many macaws that were hanging out at various places around the zoo.

I think it was called a Golden monkey-good name for it if its not.

Can you believe that this is a pig?

Africa-the Wildebeests and zebra's

Hello!

I think its a Kudu.

There were turtles in every body of water and lots of them.

My favorite the giraffe.

Black bear

A masked little bandit taking a nap.

Logs with legs and scales and growing moss?
Needless to say, we had a lot of fun and we didn't even get to see the whole zoo. We wanted to go see the Aquarium so we had to go-those pictures will be coming soon.
